Dystar's reduces 'water consumption intensity' by 80% in 5 years

Chemicals company DyStar has published its 2025 sustainability report, showing its progress towards environmental targets compared with a 2011 baseline.

This included a 51% reduction in emissions intensity, an 81% reduction in water consumption intensity, and a 58% reduction in wastewater intensity.

However, it faced challenges in waste production and packaging intensity, partly linked to plant closures and resource redeployment.

Xu Yalin, DyStar Group CEO, said: “Our progress reflects the collective strength of our people and partners. Together, we have demonstrated that resilience, responsibility and innovation can drive meaningful change.”

Singapore-headquartered DyStar employs 1,400 across 25 countries and operates 10 production sites.
