Swiss mountain sports brand Mammut has welcomed the news that freeride skiing and snowboarding are to become Olympic sports.

In early July, the International Olympic Committee confirmed that both sports will be part of the programme at the 2030 Winter Olympics, which will take place in the French Alps.

“For decades, freeriding has inspired athletes and mountain communities through a unique blend of skill, creativity, courage and connection with the terrain,” Mammut said. “Seeing this passion reach the world’s biggest sporting stage is a milestone for the sport and for everyone who helped shape it along the way.”
