Mammut under new ownership
Swiss outdoor brand Mammut has announced that Chinese private equity firm CPE is acquiring the brand from Jacobs Capital, owner since 2021. Its goal was to strengthen the company’s product offering, operations and expand its international presence. A mission which it feels has been successful as Mammut has seen revenues grow in the double digits and operating profit margins have more than doubled, while sales outside of Europe now represent more than 50% of revenues.
Under CEP ownership, international revenues from Asia are expected to continue to grow along with North American markets. Terms of the transaction were not revealed.
Mammut will continue to operate out of its home bases in Seon and Lenzburg, and the existing executive team, led by CEO Heiko Schäfer, is expected to stay on.
