International fibre congress reveals 2026 programme
The Dornbirn Global Fibre Congress, now in its 65th year, takes place on September 16 to 18 in Dornbirn, Austria. Organisers expect some 600 experts from academia and industry to attend the next edition which will feature 100 presentations.
A series of special talks are scheduled for this anniversary edition. “Fiber & textiles meet pulp and paper” introduces a cross-industry topic that is particularly timely following the announcement by Metsä that its innovative manmade cellulosic fibre Kuura would be phased down in favour of paper-based packaging.
Natural fibres will also be a key focus area for the congress that intends to provide indepth coverage of these materials described as ideally combining sustainability and performance.
In other news, the organisation has appointed Béatrice Moureaux, a former DuPont executive, as its new managing director, following the departure of Matthias W. Gluth.
