Hosiery designers choose creora

Hyosung Corporation claims that its elastane brand, creora, is growing its share of the textile industry. To help it prove the point, the company will show at the Interfilière exhibition in Paris this September new developments involving the fibre from some of Europe’s leading hosiery brands.

Sarah Borghi, Emilio Cavallini, Pompea and Penti have all created collections that will be shown in a special section on the creora stand at the event.

Sarah Borghi is a well known brand for hosiery collections produced in Italy by Gizeta. For the brand's autumn-winter 2008-2009 collection it has selected a wide range of creora elastanes: 15 denier H-350 and 20 den C-100 for legwear fit and comfort, and 140-210 den C-100 for waistbands.

Chief executive, Giancarlo Frizzi, said in the build-up to the event: “The reasons we decided to work with creora are numerous and related to all the elements that make a perfect legwear product. First of all, elasticity and ease of use are essential. The elastane also has to have the right fit and fashion content, and of course, real business considerations such as the price and quality, together with what we demand, an excellent service.”

Emilio Cavallini said it had selected creora for many reasons, among them being the ease of processing. “We like this fibre, it’s easy to handle and runs well through our production,” said the brand's production manager, Francesco Cavallini. The company uses mainly creora H-350, which delivers superior fit and power in fine deniers and is used in the latest knitting technologies.

Intimate apparel and hosiery specialist Pompea also uses creora in much of its production. The company is using a range of elastanes designed specifically for hosiery, from low heat settable C-400 to creora black.

Pompea has a vertical production cycle, from yarn to the finished garment, and has been working in partnership with Hyosung began more than four years ago. On the subject of creora, Gianfranco Allegretti, yarns research manager, commented: “In our collections, we use a lot of black and dark colours and creora black H-100D is ideally suited. We can now obtain hosiery garments in absolute black. We can avoid the annoying shine and show through of the traditional elastanes used in hosiery."

Ogretmen Hosiery brand Penti has a reputation as a design innovator in the Turkish hosiery market. In the weeks leading up to Interfilière, company owner, Davut Beresi, said Penti was using creora C-400, C-100 and H-250 from the finest denier 12 to 280 in its latest collection to help it meet its goal of offering customers "the highest quality and maximum comfort with the latest aesthetics and fashion trends".

He added: "Our philosophy is to encourage our customers to buy hosiery as an accessory not just as a necessity and Hyosung’s product development programme is essential to meet our design team’s innovation programme."
