Sanitized scores M&S win thanks to non-nano solution

Retail group Marks & Spencer (M&S), which has shops and franchises in 34 countries around the world, is to join forces with specialist Swiss antimicrobial hygiene protection provider Sanitized.

The retailer's top-selling sock line, M&S Freshfeet, will now contain Sanitized Silver and carry the 'Sanitized – More than clean' quality seal.

M&S has launched a five-year environmental programme called Plan A, against which it measures its production and sourcing activity. Sanitized has reported that its Silver antimicrobial treatment, which is bluesign approved and carries the Oeko-Tex Classe 1 seal, "completely fulfils all M&S standards".

Sanitized will now supply the technology to the 20 different suppliers who manufacture the socks on behalf of M&S.
