More job losses at Oerlikon
23/01/2009
Swiss machinery and systems producer Oerlikon has announced that further job losses at the firm are “unavoidable”.
Over the last four months, several segments of the Group have been restructuring and, according to the company, these measures include an unavoidable reduction of staff levels worldwide, affecting around 50% of temporary workers. The implementation started in the fourth quarter of 2008 and includes temporary contracts that will not be renewed and vacancies not be filled. In total, 1,000 employees are affected.
