China-based sporting goods manufacturer Anta has signed an agreement with Delcam Crispin under which it will use Delcam’s footwear design and manufacturing software. The software will replace a combination of design, costing and manufacturing systems currently used at Anta’s design and manufacturing centres across the country. The new system is designed to offer better communication between the different departments, shorten the development cycle and speed the introduction of new styles to the market.

The sports brand has more than 5,000 retail outlets in China and claims to be the country’s leading sports shoe supplier. It is now looking to become one of the top ten international sportswear brands in global revenue terms.

The first contact between the two firms took place in 2006, when Anta needed a foot scanner to develop customised shoes for the players in the China Basketball Association.
