FESI to have input on standards

25/10/2010
The European Outdoor Group (EOG) has signed a letter of cooperation with the Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI), the Brussels-based organisation representing the interests of around 1,800 European sporting goods manufacturers, other international sport federations and other associations.

In recognition of FESI’s standing in Brussels, the EOG has said it will now have input into the work of the standards and regulations committee of its Sustainability Working Group.

Reiner Hengstmann, chairman of FESI’s committee for the environment, and global director for social and environmental affairs at Puma, commented: “The ultimate goal of this committee is to properly inform, educate and coach the sporting goods industry on new European legislation, and working with the EOG will significantly help us to achieve our objectives.”

FESI will act as an early warning system for the committee, ensuring that the EOG is able to provide the industry with timely, relevant information on potentia new legislation, or updates to existing regulations affecting the industry.
