Jane Montgomery, managing director of the Federation of Sports and Play Association (FSPA), FESI’s UK member association, has been named vice-chair of the Trade & Customs Committee. She replaces Catherine Trachtenberg, who be leaving her position as secretary general of the French sporting goods industry association, FIFAS, FESI’s French member association.
Ms Montgomery joins adidas’ Karl Sedlmeyer and Nike’s Marijke Newman, who are chairman and vice-chair respectively.
Marielle Schaar, legal counsel at ASICS Europe, has been named vice-chair of the Intellectual Property Rights Committee.
Alberto Bichi, secretary general of FESI, said: “I am sure they will contribute a great deal to the important work that FESI does to ensure further trade liberalisation for sporting goods, fight protectionism and improve the protection of intellectual property rights.
“I also wish to thank Catherine Trachtenberg for her contribution as vice-chair. During her term, the trade and customs committee has achieved excellent results, such as the termination of anti-dumping duties on footwear from China and Vietnam.”
The IPR committee is led by Puma’s Neil Narriman and also includes Anne Laurent from Amer Sports as vice-chair.
