Alberto Bichi to step down as FESI secretary general

11/10/2017
The Federation of the European Sporting Goods Industry (FESI) will have a new secretary general after Alberto Bichi signaled his intention to step down in order to “pursue other roles within the political landscape of the European Union”.

His replacement will be Jérôme Pero, FESI’s director of policy. He will be supported by Youri Mercier as deputy secretary general. FESI said these appointments would “ensure a seamless continuation” of its activities.

FESI president, Luca Businaro, announced his own resignation when commenting on these changes as he seeks to dedicate more time to his own business. Former FESI president and general counsel for sportswear manufacturer Adidas, Frank Dassler, is to step in as acting president.

Alberto Bichi was the focus of the Game Changers feature in the January/February 2017 issue of WSA edition magazine. It can be viewed in our technical library.
