Invista to present latest innovations at Denim by PV
Integrated fibres and polymers producer Invista is to showcase its latest innovations at Denim by Première Vision on December 1-2 in Paris. The company has prepared a global fabric and garment collection around five distinct themes: Dress for Success; Stretch Your Imagination; Black is Back; Colour My World; and Great Performances.
Dress for Success features the season’s latest silhouette, the trouser jean. Here denim is shown in more formal looks with Lycra fibre or Lycra T400 fibre, sometimes in combination with Supima cotton or Tencel fibre for enhanced softness and fluidity. Featured fabrics include styles from Canatiba of Brazil, Arvind of India, Central Fabrics of Hong Kong and Full Blossom of Taiwan.
Stretch Your Imagination focuses on super-stretch fabrics with Lycra fibre, offering 30% stretch or more. This category features fabrics from Tavex Group of Spain and Canatiba of Brazil in slim styles designed to accentuate a woman’s curves.
The Black is Back theme showcases the continuing importance of black and grey denim. Candiani uses Lycra T400 Black fibre to create fade-resistant black denim. ADM of Pakistan features the Lycra T400 Black fibre in both the warp and weft to create black and grey XFIT Lycra fabrics with 360 degree comfort and fit. Japanese mill Kurabo rounds out the collection with lightweight black denims containing Lycra fibre.
Colour My World brings a fresh new look to denim with colourful twills of cotton and Lycra fibre from Kurabo of Japan and Tavex Group of Spain. A number of the fabrics in this category have been finished using techniques such as laser printing and tie dyeing from Jeanologia.
Finally, Great Performances focuses on the growing category of performance denim. Branded fabrics with moisture management properties lead the collection in lightweight breathable denims from QianJin of China. Cordura Denim fabrics from Artistic Milliners of Pakistan bring durable comfort to hard-working denim garments. Kaltex of Mexico features Tough Max Lycra fabrics for jeans with strength and flexibility that are ideal for work or active sports such as skateboarding.
Jean Hegedus, global marketing director for Invista in Denim, said: “First, it brings together fabrics with Invista innovations from a variety of mills from different regions of the world. Second, it brings new looks to commercial fabrics by using finishes developed by Jeanologia, the Spanish finishing expert. And third, it showcases the latest fashion trends through a variety of concept garments.”
