JRC-Reflex IBR adds width to its reflective fabrics

14/05/2012
High-tech textile trimming specialist JRC-Reflex IBR has added elastic retroreflective fabrics in large widths (140 centimetres) to its product range, in response to the trend for added safety and high-tech aesthetics.

From performance sportswear to urban mobility markets, the demand for retroreflective fabrics and trimming continues to grow and is shifting from details to all-over fabrics.

In addition to high-quality retroreflection and elasticity, the supple large-width fabrics have soft and smooth hands, making them comfortable and easy to wear during the day while offering a high degree of safety at night or in low light conditions because retroreflective microspheres cover the entire surface of the fabric.
JRC-Reflex IBR has developed a wide range of colours to cater, the company has said, to all needs, from running to cycling and most outdoor activities.

Like the ornamental trimming range, the large-width fabrics can be perforated or laminated to add other functions, improving ventilation inside the garment, or to experiment with double-layered or decorative effects.

Combining neon tones with retroreflection,
JRC-Reflex IBR has developed a number of multiple layer fabrics and trimmings. The company’s perforated fabric and trimming range combines an elastic retroreflective silver face fabric with a brightly coloured (or black) elastic knit under-layer. Perforations reveal the underlayer; they measure 1 to 2 millimetres and can be developed to a client’s specifications.

A new series of trimming is available with pinked or cranté edges, including classic triangular cranté, round wavy cranté and scalloped edges. Perforations are applied according to client’s specifications.

JRC-Reflex was founded in France, but following a merger with IBR in 2008,
products are now manufactured in a plant located in Bergamo, Italy.
