JRC boosts the wow factor with glittering retroreflection

Trimmings and coatings specialist JRC Reflex has launched a new set of products for the sportswear sector, in response to demand for updates on its retroreflective products.

‘Glitter’, which will be on display at the upcoming Performance Days fabric show in Munich, features sparkling sequins that add to the retroreflection when a source of light hits the material’s surface.

Glitter is available in super black, white and silver and is offered in high-stretch in wide widths for panels or trimming.

The French company - which supplied the retroreflective fabric Nike used for its medal winners’ podium jackets at the London 2012 Olympics – has also developed a similar material for leather shoe uppers or gloves.

The microfibre is available in three thicknesses (from 1mm to 1.4mm) and is coated with the company’s signature super black reflective coating.

Founded in 1988, JRC is based in Romans, France. In 2008, it merged with Italy’s IBR and invested in production facilities there.
