Spanish chemical company Asutex has presented a “glitter reveal” system that it has created in response to a trend towards “engineered surface transformation” for spring-summer 2027.

Rather than relying on applied sparkle or metallic overlays, shine is selectively revealed using lasers, enabling customised designs after application.

It can be coated or printed, and ensures consistent surface performance across different set-ups, said the company.

“While often referred to as a glitter effect, the underlying chemistry is based on mineral components rather than microplastics, addressing growing environmental concerns associated with conventional glitter materials,” an Asutex spokesperson told Sportstextiles.
