Guess shuns plastics to add sparkle to new collection
Clothing brand Guess has launched a collection of T-shirts and sweatshirts printed with Bioglitter, a biodegradable glitter from UK-based company Ronald Britton.

Rather than traditional plastics, the glitter is made with a cellulose core derived from hardwoods, preferably eucalyptus, sustainably sourced from responsibly managed plantations.

The glitter pigment is designed to biodegrade quickly and safely in natural freshwater environments and is certified OK Biodegradable WATER by TÜV Austria.

The company said: “This is a great step forward for the fashion industry, as it shows that sustainability can be incorporated into the glittery aspects of clothing production.”
