JRC Reflex makes acquisition

15/12/2008

French provider of retro-reflective technology JRC Reflex has taken a majority share in IBR, a manufacturer of high-performance retro-reflective stretch materials, based in Bergamo, Italy.

JRC Reflex specialises in stretch retroreflective trims for the sports apparel industry. IBR is a supplier of stretch retroreflective materials. The two companies have been working in close partnership for  15 years, but came to an agreement on November 20 that JRC should become the majority stakeholder of IBR.

The agreement was signed by the co-owners of JRC—Celine Cugerone, general manager, and Bernard Cugerone, chief executive—and Cesare Bartolli, owner of IBR.

The IBR headquarters and factory will remain in the Bergamo region, and a new production site is slated to open in the year to come. Both companies will keep their personnel and expertise in place. Their combined forces will reinforce their mutual position as leading suppliers of stretch retro-reflective materials to the sports apparel industry and will, they hope, also open possibilities in new markets.
