Innovation on display at Performance Days

Visibility will include products that show the recent success JRC Reflex has had in developing new production processes to apply its reflective materials to three-dimensional surfaces, while another producer, Ea Shinn, will exhibit a ‘glow in the dark’ material that charges itself when exposed to ligh and can then as a light source on its own. Under the same category, Paltex will show how it uses reflective fibres from 3M Scotchlite in its fabric to create a reflective checkered pattern effect.
In Warmth, the next category, two developments that the organisers have highlighted are a textile design from SITIP that generates heat through the stretching of the fabric, and fabric from Pontetorto that uses perspiration from athletes’ bodies to generate one or two degrees of extra warmth, taking advantage of the natural physical transfer phase that the moisture goes through.
Durability, the third category, puts the emphasis at this edition of Performance Days on a new multi-filament yarn from FOV Fabrics, which uses Vectran fibres (five times stronger than steel) from Kuraray to deliver high levels of durability but also elasticity.
In addition to the Performance Days exhibition, which takes place twice a year in Munich, since April 2012, it has also be accessible 365 days per year online as a virtual trade fair, at wtpfair.com/PerformanceDays.
