Artist selects Sitip’s recycled fabrics for Australian installation
Waste fabric from Italian textiles company Sitip has been used to create Seabilia, an artwork by Italian artist Elena Redaelli featuring in annual Australian event Sculpture by the Sea.

The fabric is a circular knit composed of 89% recycled polyester derived from waste recovered from the environment, and 11% elastane.

As revealed in its recent sustainability report, Bergamo-based Sitip Group decreased its CO2 emissions by 22% in 2022 compared with 2021 and bought 30% more recycled raw material.

Sculpture by the Sea attracts half a million visitors, who flock to Sydney’s beaches to admire more than 100 works created by artists from all over the world.
