Five textile tech brands collaborate on antiviral jacket
Five material manufacturers have teamed up on the design of an antiviral, multifunctional coat designed to be a “highly effective barrier to shield the wearer” from their surroundings.
Designed by Just5 By 2A, Coats, HeiQ, Windtex Vagotex and Sitip, the JUST5 coat comprises components that are each available separately and have been treated by HeiQ’s Viroblock.
The components include 2A-Nyguard Nyshield self-sanitising zippers said to restore their usability five minutes after every touch; Coats ProtectV sewing thread; HeiQ’s antimicrobial fabric technology; Sitip warp-knitted fabric for the extendable cuffs; and Windtex Vagotex fabric, said to be breathable, water-repellent and wind-resistant.
The jacket, expected to be available in late autumn, is being launched on Kickstarter, where consumers can place pre-orders.
