EOCA Names 2012 Conservation Champions

19/07/2012
The European Outdoor Conservation Association (EOCA) has named Spanish head-and-neck weather protection brand Original Buff, women-only technical clothing brand from Switzerland, Wild Roses, and UK-based footwear and apparel aftercare solutions provider Nikwax as its 2012 conservation champions.

Original Buff received the award for what EOCA called its “momentous donation to conservation”. For the second year in a row, Buff has committed to funding three conservation projects in their entirety, ensuring the conservation of forests, meadows, and threatened species in Spain, France and the UK.

Wild Roses is the first EOCA member to design an item for retail that will directly benefit the association. A new ‘Cool for Conservation’ T-shirt range will be in shops in spring 2013 with 50 cents from each T-shirt going to EOCA.

Nikwax raised funds by setting up a “smoothie bike” at outdoor tradeshows, enabling visitors to pedal to produce their own healthy drink while donating to EOCA.
