Brazilian machinery helps Mount Vernon offer softer FR fabrics

US-based manufacturer of textiles, chemicals and related products Mount Vernon Mills has announced a series of innovations to its flame resistant (FR) fabrics.

To enhance comfort, it will make a finish called Amsoft available on all fabrics in its range, applying it with a machine called Airo 24 from Brazilian manufacturer Biancalani, which means it can make this softening process chemical-free. It leaves the FR fabrics with a naturally soft hand and improved drapem the company has said.
