“For the first time ever, Techtextil is fully sold out,” said Olaf Schmidt, a vice-president at organiser Messe Frankfurt, more than a month before the start date. The number of exhibitors from Germany, Italy, India and Turkey has increased compared to the last event in 2011. The number of pavilions has also risen by two in comparison with Techtextil 2011 and now totals 13 exhibitor nations.
The highest number of exhibitors are in the segments for woven fabrics, knitted fabrics, coated textiles, fibres and yarns and technology, processes and accessories. In addition, Messe Frankfurt said there was particular exhibitor interest in a new functional apparel textiles product group.
For the second time running, Techtextil will be held concurrently with the Texprocess fair for processing textiles and flexible materials. Texprocess begins a day earlier, on June 10.
