Polartec names 2013 Apex Awards winners

Specialist sports and outdoor fabric manufacturer Polartec has announced the 2013 Polartec APEX Awards winners in North America, Europe and Asia.

In all, the awards honour 35 brands and product manufacturers for their style, function, workmanship, and fit, as well as what Polartec calls “the most innovative and appropriate uses” of its fabrics in design.

Polartec will showcase the award-winning designs at outdoor industry trade shows this summer.

North American winners are: Arc’teryx for the Konseal Hoody; Astis for the Erling Mitten; Black Diamond for the Coefficient Hooded Jacket; Cabela’s for the women’s Polartec Power Stretch Baselayer; Dragonwear for the Brightline Jacket; Eddie Bauer for the Propellant Jacket; Flylow
for the Lab Coat & Compound Pant; Giro for the Neo Rain Jacket; Marmot for the Isotherm Hoody; Oakley for the BioZone Jacket; Patagonia for the Capilene 4 EW One-Piece Suit; Stio for the Basis Shirt; Sugoi for RSR Race Top & RSR Race Tight and The North Face for its men’s and women’s Radium Hooded Jacket.

In Europe, the 2013 Apex Awards winners are: 66 North for the Esja Hooded Power Shield Jacket; 8848 Altitude for the RB Jacket & Morpheus Pant; Crazy Idea for the Half Blade Jacket & Half Blade Pant; Direct Alpine for the Revolution Jacket; Finside for the Taru Jacket; Karpos for the Ardent Jacket; Mammut for the Eigerjoch & Biwak Light Jacket; Millet for the Touring XTREM Jacket; Montane for the Alpha Guide Jacket; NFM for the Garm Softshell Combat Shirt FR; Norrøna for the røldal warm1 shirt; Original Buff for the Sweatshirt Kilby; Rossignol for the Phantom Neo Jacket & Phantom Neo Harness Pant; Ternua for the Jannu Jacket and Ternua for the Kanjut Top.
