German outdoor brand Vaude has published its sustainability report for 2013, showing progress it claims to have made in reducing pollution, making its products greener and ensuring fair working conditions for the people involved in making its clothing and equipment.

The company said on publishing the report that it feels it is taking “great strides” toward its goal of becoming “Europe’s most sustainable outdoor brand” by 2015.

“We recognise where we are and where we need to work harder in the coming years. We are actively pursuing measurement and evaluation, and publishing our data. We are creating transparency to encourage more dialogue on these topics. And of course, we welcome all to a friendly competition for more sustainability,” said the brand’s chief executive, Antje von Dewitz.
