Vaude adds to ‘recycled’ backpack range
German outdoor brand Vaude has expanded its range of backpacks made with recycled plastic bottles as part of a drive to become Europe’s “most sustainable outdoor outfitter”.
The manufacturing process needs between 30% and 50% less energy than conventional methods, and produces half as many CO2 emissions, it says.
The PETara bag is designed with a selection of compartments, providing room for a laptop and all work necessities. The PETronio pack/bag hybrid is transformed into a backpack for easy carrying and a better distribution of heavy loads, and the PETonel is designed for travelling light.
The company has been offering products made with recycled PET since 2006.
