Vaude CEO Antje von Dewitz (pictured) said: "The shop on eBay is another important pillar of our comprehensive sustainability strategy. We are pleased that now we are able to be environmentally even stronger engaged not only during the production phase but also once the product exists. The longer a product is being used, the lower is its ecological footprint."
Martin Barthel, a senior director of verticals at eBay Germany, added: “It will allow private sellers and buyers to engage with Vaude in a new way on eBay, deepening their engagement with the brand and its sustainability mission, regardless of whether they buy Vaude products for the first time or resell them.”
On Black Friday 2014, US brand Patagonia encouraged customers to swap their gear, rather than buy new products.
