New bottom wear stretch fibre at Teijin

01/10/2013

Teijin Frontier, part of the Teijin Group, has developed a high-performance stretch fibre called Solotex OO.

Combining Teijin Frontier’s Solotex polytrimethylene terephthalate (PTT) fibre and Asahi Kasei’s Roica polyurethane fibre, Solotex OO is said to offer excellent elasticity in a soft, lightweight and shape-stable fibre that works well for bottom wear applications.

Clothes made with Solotex OO allow wearers to move comfortably and to easily slip in and out of tight-fitting designs. Additional capabilities such as high-level thermal insulation, UV shielding, absorbency, quick-drying and non-translucency can easily be added to the fibre.

The Japan-based Teijin Group comprises approximately 150 companies and around 17,000 employees in 20 countries. It posted consolidated sales of JPY745.7 billion ($7.4 billion) and total assets of JPY762.4 billion for the year ended March 31.
