Price hike at DSM Dyneema
Netherlands-based DSM Dyneema has introduced a 5% global price increase for all DSM Dyneema fibre and uni-directional product lines. The increase will be effective from January 1 or as contracts allow.
Dyneema is a polyethylene fibre that offers maximum strength combined with minimum weight. On a weight-for-weight basis it is up to 15 times stronger than quality steel and up to 40% stronger than aramid fibres. The durable fibre floats on water and is resistant to moisture, UV light and chemicals.
Dyneema is used in fine yarns for sporting goods and in the medical sector as well as in safety gloves, bullet-resistant armour and clothing, ropes, cables and fishing nets.
