ACIMIT leads delegation to Indonesia
The Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers is to host two symposiums in Indonesia this November. The sessions will take place in Solo on November 11 and in Bandung on November 13.
Indonesia ranks among the top ten exporters of Italian textile products and garments, and is also among its primary markets for textile machinery. Machinery demand is primarily focused on spinning machines (40%) and finishing machines (29%).
In 2012, Italy exported textile machinery worth €38 million to Indonesia, up 30% year-on-year. During the first six months of 2013, Italy’s textile machinery exports to Indonesia exceeded €18 million.
“Indonesia is one of our primary export destinations,” comments Raffaella Carabelli, president of ACIMIT. “During the institutional mission last May, we were able to witness just how much the local authorities are committed to promoting the textile industry in order to increase their export production; currently standing at around 60%.”
She added: “Sales of Italian technology on the Indonesian market have grown over the past five years at a rhythm of 30% on average annually. However, Italian businesses still see a great deal of opportunities in the country.
“I’m certain that the characteristics of our technology – that is its quality, versatility and special attention to sustainability for the entire production process – will enable Italy’s technology producers to further strengthen their presence in Indonesia.”
