Spanish textile exports up 15%

According to the Spanish Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness, the nation’s textile exports rose by 14.7% during the first eight months of 2013 to €7.8 million ($10.7 million). 

Spain’s textile imports totalled €9.5 million during the same period, a rise of 2.7% compared with the first eight months of 2012. Garment exports totalled €5.5 million, up 19.3%, while garment imports grew by 2.2% to €7.2 million.

The countries textile exports for August alone totalled €1.1 million, up 20% year-on-year. Textile imports for the month fell 6% to €1.32 million.

Garment exports rose 20.5% to €883,400 in August, while garment imports fell 8.5% to €1.1 million.
