Long-serving Berghaus director retires

David Kennedy, finance director of outdoor brand Berghaus, has announced plans to retire after 20 years with the UK-based company.

In his time with Berghaus, part of the Pentland Group of companies, Mr Kennedy has been part of a management team that has transformed the brand into a global business, now operating in 50 markets. Mr Kennedy has been vice-president of Berghaus Japan and has twice been acting managing director for Pentland-owned outdoor footwear brand brasher.

Sir Chris Bonington, Berghaus non-executive chairman, said: “David Kennedy has been an outstanding servant to Berghaus and his commitment and flexibility have been incredible, along with his passion for our brand.“

John Carver, who has worked in senior finance positions for Procter & Gamble and Associated British Foods, has joined as interim finance director.
