Lacoste brother and sister take over high-end ski clothing brand

10/01/2014
Two members of the Lacoste family have taken control of French high-end alpine clothing brand Fusalp.

At the start of the year, Fusalp announced that Sophie and Philippe Lacoste have taken a 77.6% share in the company. The two, who are sister and brother, are members of the family behind the Lacoste sports brand, but are no longer involved in running that company and are free to concentrate on their involvement with Fusalp.

Former Lacoste managing director, Alexandre Fauvet, is also involved in the new venture, taking an 8% stake.

Under the new set-up, the two Lacostes and Mr Fauvet will form the board of Fusalp, with Philippe Lacoste as chairman. Alexandre Fauvet will be the chief executive.

Joe¨l Gleyze, who has run Annecy-based Fusalp since 1984, will continue to be involved, acting as deputy chief executive and helping the transition in the company to go through smoothly.

Fusalp offers high-end ski jackets, trousers and other outer wear, and has a luxury collection called 1952, to commemorate the year the brand started.
