Turkey would be Brazilian textile group’s location of choice

Brazilian textile group Coteminas has said that it will choose Turkey as the location of its first production plant in Europe, but gave no firm indication of when any investment might take place.

Coteminas already runs 22 factories across Latin America, producing yarns and fabrics, as well as T-shirts and other finished garments. The company has said it is responsible for around 20% of all cotton consumption in Brazil.

Company president, Josué Christiano Gomes da Silva, said at a recent meeting with the Turkish Textile Employers’ Association that Turkey, with its growing economy, business and investment environment and “key geographical location” would be the best place for Coteminas to set up in Europe.
