Perfluorinated substances on agenda in Germany

20/03/2014

Scientific and regulatory developments in per- and polyfluorinated substances will be discussed during a four-day conference in Germany in June.

The substances, which can be produced when achieving water and oil repellency for textiles, were widely debated by the outdoor industry during 2012 and 2013.

The conference will be made up of workshops and presentations with speakers including Christoph Schulte from the German Federal Environment Agency who will discuss exposure, and Christopher Lau from the US Environmental Protection Agency who will look at epidemiology and toxicity.

The 6th International Workshop on Per- and Polyfluorinated Alkyl Substances will take place in Idstein, Germany, from June 15 to 18.
