Honeywell to boost nylon offering

Honeywell Resins and Chemicals is to expand its nylon 6 and 6.6 production line in the US, adding
capacity for an extra 40,000 metric tons per year.

The Honeywell plant in Hopewell, with a capacity of 350,000 metric tons of caprolactam per year, is one of the largest single-site caprolactam production facilities in the world. It is sold globally and shipped either in molten or flake form to a variety of downstream customers.

The new facility is expected to start production in the fourth quarter of 2015.
