Performance fabric manufacturer Garmatex Technologies has appointed a “fabric and apparel polymath” to help it capture business from big brands.

William Gardiner, who has held roles at Thai textile group Nan Yang and apparel manufacturer Zorrel International, joins as senior vice-president of sales and marketing.

“With his record of working with the most demanding fabric customers in the world, Bill will no doubt help us realise on the opportunities we are currently pursuing with leading global brands,” said Garmatex’s CEO, Martin Doane. “Bill is a true fabric and apparel polymath, and we are incredibly fortunate to have been able to recruit someone of his calibre.”

Alexander McAulay has also joined the US-based company as chief financial and operations officer from baselayer producer Naked Brand Group, which he founded.

Garmatex’s portfolio includes Kottinu, T3, Bact-Out, CoolSkin and WarmSkin.
