Lenzing’s new Tencel factory is up and running

The Lenzing Group has successfully initiated production at a new Tencel production facility, the largest in the world, at the Lenzing site in Upper Austria.

Chief executive, Peter Untersperger, called Tencel “the fibre of the future” and said Lenzing was “optimistic that we will be able to achieve the planned production target of 30,000 tonnes by the end of 2014”.

The new factory has a single production line with an annual nominal capacity of 67,000 tonnes, four times larger than previous Tencel production lines.
