Lenzing to lose a board member

29/09/2014
Friedrich Weninger, chief operating officer of Austrian fibre group Lenzing, will step down from the board at the end of the year for personal reasons but will continue to serve as a consultant.

Mr Weninger has been working for the company for more than 25 years and recently managed the company’s global production facilities, with more than 6,000 employees.

“We would like to thank Friedrich Weninger for his decades of committed work and his extraordinary achievements as an employee and as a board member,” said chairman Michael Junghans.

“The company profited from his experience and expertise as COO, especially with respect to the successful restructuring of the group as well as the planning and successful start-up of the new Tencel plant in Lenzing.”

The tasks previously assigned to Mr Weninger will be carried out by the remaining board members, Peter Untersperger (CEO), Robert van de Kerkhof (CCO) and Thomas Riegler (CFO).
