Wearable electronics market to grow at 18% per year - report

The global wearable electronics market is expected to see annual sales of $8 billion by 2018, growing 17.7% per year, according to research firm RnR Market Research.

Around 130 million units were sold in 2012 with a value of $850 million, it said, with wrist-wear accounting for the largest proportion.

Market value was estimated to be more than $4 billion in 2012, and is expected to reach $14 billion by 2018, growing at a rate of more than 18% per year.
