US conservation projects receive boost from Bergans
Outdoor brand Bergans of Norway has joined the Conservation Alliance, an association that helps to protect wildlife areas in North America.

The Alliance has contributed $13 million to grassroots conservation groups throughout North America since 1989 and Bergans will now be eligible to nominate projects vote on funding allocation.

"They help ensure people have open spaces to visit, interact with and play in, now and in the future," said Keith Patterson, Bergans USA's VP of sales and marketing.

"We know the choices we make when designing our products greatly affect the environment and the social systems surrounding manufacturing. Consequently, we have developed and actively work within strict requirements on material types including wool, down, recycled materials, leather, organic cotton and nano technology. We strive for bluesign certification on all our products."

The Alliance is made up of 185 member companies, and plans to disburse $1.7 million this year.
