Statement aims to promote “decent conditions” in Myanmar

Myanmar and US trade authorities issued a joint statement at the end of August to promote labour rights and practices in the Asian country, where some clothing and footwear brands have begun to source product.

Main goals will be to develop “a multi-year strategy for labour law reform”, to implement “decent working conditions on the ground”, and to foster strong relations between businesses, workers, and the government of Myanmar.
