H&M supports flood victims in South Asia

Massive damage has been caused to homes and local infrastructure in the Himalayan region and Bangladesh due to raging monsoon floods.
The funding will be directed towards emergency relief kits, solar lamps, hygiene kits etc. Food packages and safe drinking water will also be provided in the affected areas. Cash-for-work programs and unconditional cash grants will be set up to help families in need.
Last week, H&M joined brands including Primark, Next and C&A in an open letter to the Cambodian government, requesting a fair minimum wage for garment workers.
They said: "While our sourcing volumes are forecast to increase in the market, we are closely scrutinising the approach the Cambodian Government and GMAC are taking to promote the above issues. To support the forecast volumes there is a requirement to see a positive attitude and support for the establishment of freedom of association, the right to collective bargaining, fair living wages, stability and peaceful conflict resolution. This will then deliver the assurance and necessary trust in Cambodia to continue promoting the market as a strategic sourcing country."
