Black Diamond brand president leaves to take up Patagonia post in Europe
Outdoor brand Patagonia has named Ryan Gellert as its new general manager for Europe. Mr Gellert has made the move to Patagonia after more than 15 years at outdoor equipment brand Black Diamond.

Ryan Gellert joined Black Diamond as global supply chain manager in 1998 and held the post until 2002, when he undertook an international law degree. Upon completing his law studies, he returned to Black Diamond, moving from its headquarters in Salt Lake City to become managing director of its business in Asia, basing himself at Zhuhai in China.

Patagonia has its European headquarters in Amsterdam. On taking up the post there, Mr Gellert said Patagonia had long been an inspiration to him for its leadership in sustainable development.
