Patagonia-funded film highlights environmental issues
Patagonia-funded documentary DamNation, which tells the story of the damage obsolete dams can cause to the environment, is now available from Vimeo On Demand and through iTunes.

The outdoor company has been campaigning against obsolete and damaging dams since 1993.

In May, the Chilean government cancelled permits for the HidroAysén five-dam power project that threatened Patagonia’s free-flowing Baker and Pascua Rivers. Patagonia founder Yvon Chouinard published an article about the issue in The New York Times earlier this year.

He said: “I’m proud to have been involved. Time and again, I’ve witnessed how removing an unnecessary dam is the responsible and, eventually, celebrated choice. Ben, Matt and Travis show us why, and they’ve made a beautiful film.”
