Changes at the top at Pentland
Sports and footwear group Pentland has announced changes at the top. Andy Rubin is to take up the newly created role of chairman of its brand management division, Pentland Brands. Stephen Rubin will remain chairman of the group. Andy Long, currently chief operating officer of Pentland Brands, will replace Andy Rubin as chief executive. The changes will come into effect on January 1.

Pentland own Berghaus, Canterbury, Speedo, Brasher, Boxfresh, Ellesse, KangaROOS, Mitre, Prostar and Red or Dead and is a licensee for Lacoste Chaussures, Ted Baker and Kickers.
 
Andy Rubin, a member of the group’s founding family, has been with Pentland Brands for 23 years, 16 of them as chief executive.

For his part, Andy Long has been at Pentland for nine years, following roles at consumer products brand Procter & Gamble and retail group Boots. He became co-president of Speedo in 2006. He has been a member of the Pentland Brands executive team since 2009 and became chief operating officer in 2012.
