Bayer’s Insqin, a new polyurethane-coated fabric production process, will be on the agenda at the China-based Green Polyurethane Industry Technical Seminar in March.

Speakers will focus on the application of waterborne, solvent-free TPU technology and biomass raw materials in terms of synthetic leather, coatings and adhesives.

The PU industry has expanded rapidly in recent years, but organisers says that the rapid development created problems in terms of pollution. “Meanwhile, many companies are plagued by technical barriers, higher raw material costs and other problems when producing and using green PU products,” they added.

Speakers at the event in Xiamen on March 20 include Nick Smith, head of textiles at Bayer MaterialScience, and Eugene Deng, from the shoemaking innovation team at Great Eastern Resins
