India: Huntsman Textile Effects scoops CSR Award

15/04/2015
Huntsman Textile Effects Baroda, part of the chemical group’s Indian division, won “Best CSR Project in Education" at the IndiaCSR Community Initiative Awards for its involvement with an initiative in Anandi (Project Area Networking and Development Initiatives).

Sneha Roy, head of Huntsman’s CSR initiative for Anandi, said: “Education is an important tool – a tool which can lift communities out of poverty, illnesses and several other socially pertinent issues. In 2011, when we did a needs-assessment to understand the area of focus for CSR, we realised that education as a tool needed to be sharpened – especially for children and adolescents. Through Anandi, we want to go beyond CSR and lay the foundation for best practices and models in education that can be replicated nationally.”
