Huntsman’s black AVITERA dye completes spectrum

Huntsman Textile Effects has developed a reactive black dye that is made without p-chloroaniline (PCA), a potential impurity in such dyes, it says.

Independent test institutes have confirmed AVITERA Black SE is free from restricted arylamines, including PCA, to meet increasingly stringent environmental standards and to help textile mills improve their productivity.

The dye is compliant with OEKO-TEX, bluesign, Zero Discharge of Hazardous Chemicals and the Restricted Substance List (RSL) standards, and completes the colour spectrum in the AVITERA range.

Jay Naidu, global vice-president of strategic marketing and planning, said: “Our latest breakthrough is redefining economic and environmental sustainability for textile mills. It minimises processing costs for enhanced profitability, while increasing productivity without additional capital investment.”
