Nylstar agreement means production continues at Puntiblond plant

Spanish fabric maker Puntiblond has signed a collaboration agreement with yarn and fabric producer Nylstar. The agreement means that since May 1, Nylstar has been operating the production facility that Puntiblond has in Sant Pere de Vilamajor, near Barcelona.

Nylstar has made it clear to sportstextiles that it has not acquired Puntiblond, which specialises in stretch polyamide fabrics for lingerie, swimwear and sportswear. It said it only wanted operations and fabric development to continue at the plant, preserving 40 jobs there.

The agreement will allow Nylstar to extend its premium sports and fashion fabric range. It said on making the announcement that the fabrics it makes at Vilamajor will maintain have high levels of comfort and elasticity, will be lightweight, easy to iron, and will offer good colour fastness, sun protection and moisture management.
